JUNIOR H $AD BOYZ MANÍA TOUR LIVE @ HONDA CENTER

Updated: Jan 24

Rising Mexican regional artist Junior H left fans in awe during his highly anticipated concert in Anaheim, blending his signature “sad boy corridos tumbados” sound with heartfelt performances and high-energy moments. The concert, signaling the end of his Sad Boy Mania tour, took place in front of a packed audience of over 18,000 fans at the Honda Center, showcasing why he’s one Corridos Tumbados biggest stars. After delivering back to back sold out shows at the BMO stadium in Los Angeles, he decided to finish out his tour back in California, delivering an impressive show at a slightly more intimate venue. This show brought our hoards of fans, decked out in impressive Junior H merch, whether official or homemade as they prepared to dance and sing along with the Guanajuato born artist.

Junior H opened the night with fan favorites, including “Rockstar” and “Mientele,” instantly igniting the crowd. The screams of his die hard fans were deafening as he strutted onto the stage in his rhinestoned Amiri jacket and sunglasses. His raw delivery paired with his deep connection to his lyrics captivated the audience immediately. Fans also appreciated the visually stunning stage setup, featuring dynamic lighting, a plethora of pyrotechnics throughout the entirety of the show, and screens displaying cinematic visuals that complemented his storytelling. Backed by a live band of 30 musicians, the artist delivered his hits with a modern twist, blending traditional Mexican instrumentation with trap and hip-hop influences. Though the tour might be called Sad Boy Mania, there was no sad energy about, as the screams and singing continued without fail from start to finish. If anything, the energy only kept rising, so much that at one point, all the fold out chairs from the first few rows snapped shut as a result of the dancing and vibrations coming from the audience.

The well rounded setlist included tracks from his latest album, Sad Boyz 4 Life II, as well as earlier hits that helped cement his status in the genre. He also went on to play a few of his well known collaborations with Peso Pluma, Gabito Ballesteros, and Oscar Maydon. Between songs, Junior H took many moments to thank his fans for their unwavering support and took time to sign items like merch, hats, bras that were all thrown on stage, showing how his level of superstardom has not diminished his humility and gratitude in the least.

One of the night’s highlights came when Junior H performed “Abcdario,” a track that he sings with the legendary Eden Munoz, that had the crowd singing along word for word. That same energy was further amplified a few songs later when two members of his band, and Chucky, the horror icon that has become somewhat of a Junior H mascot,  joined him on stage for a Cumbia collaboration that brought the house down. At this point in the night, the concert began to resemble something more like a proper Latino party or wedding, with everyone taking shots of Clase Azul (courtesy of the designated crew member in charge of running the the tequila bottle up and down the stage), a conga line, and nonstop dancing as fog canons enveloped them all.

Towards the end of the show, Jimmy Humilde, owner of record label Rancho Humilde which Junior H is signed to, came on stage to present him with an award in honor of having completed a fully sold out tour. This was a huge accomplishment for the 23 year old artist. After graciously thanking Jimmy Humilde, his team, and his fans, Junior H closed the show with a  performance of “LA CHERRY,” leaving the audience chanting for more. As the final notes played, the atmosphere was charged with gratitude and excitement, a testament to the bond between the artist and his supporters.

This concert proved once again that Junior H isn’t just a rising star—he’s a force to be reckoned with in Mexican regional music, redefining the genre for a new generation. Fans left the venue buzzing, already looking forward to his next project and tour. Junior H is set to play Coachella next year, showing that he is in no way settling down any time soon.
